2024 Veterinary Medicine Advisory Council Meeting
WICHE has provided students in the Western region with affordable access to veterinary medicine programs for over 70 years through its Professional Student Exchange Program (PSEP; wiche.testing.brossgroup.com/psep). To date, more than 3,850 DVMs have been educated through WICHE at one of our cooperating colleges of veterinary medicine (CVM). Our partner CVMs include Colorado State University, Midwestern University, Oregon State University, and Washington State University.
WICHE’s Veterinary Medicine Advisory Council (VMAC) will celebrate its 47th meeting this year. Attendees will learn more about issues that western veterinary medicine educators and students face. Members of the council include the deans of partner CVMs and their deans of admission, pre-veterinary education advisors, veterinary education faculty members as well as legislators involved in education and animal health issues, presidents and executive directors of state veterinary medical associations in the West, and veterinary medicine practitioners involved in veterinary education. Members of the Council are appointed by a member of WICHE’s commission from their respective states to three-year terms. Approximately 25 council members participate.
