The steady growth in high school graduates that led to significant expansion of higher education in the United States in recent decades is coming to an abrupt halt.

New Mexico State University (NMSU) College of Engineering Assistant Dean Patricia A. Sullivan on Nov. 10 was elected chair of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education.

Montana’s Commissioner of Higher Education Clay Christian on Nov. 10 was elected vice chair of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education.

Lost academic credits and tuition dollars, delayed graduations, and dampened students’ hopes and aspirations have been commonplace for thousands of transfer students because of the reluctance of many colleges and universities to accept course credits earned elsewhere.
